This series is still full of "WTF".

Concept: Main character Fernando the man whore partakes in yet another absurd scenario.

Story: Fernando (A.K.A pseudo Jesus )must prevent the sacrifice of virgin goats from an evil goat temptress. I wonder what kind of reactions the author got if he ever explained his storyline to anyone not affiliated with him.

Art: The authors drawing style is unmistakable. All the humans somewhat look like the man whore when they do certain expressions such as "surprise" and "pain" . The style is very consistent even in the authors other works.

Animation: The facial animation was strongest in this flash. I like how the jaws moved properly as characters spoke. Too bad there's not much full body movement. Would've made the characters more lively.

Humor: It's there it and it gave me a chuckle or two. ( the "nipple slap" and Fernando's mentor(!?) looking up Fernando's underwear and saying I understand.

Overall: Not amazing, but a decent comedy. In fact the best parody featuring the man whore, in my opinion. If you can overlook the weird scenario and soft-core "furry" Milk of The Man whore is worth a look.

Fast paced action with unique fighters

Damn it terkoiz1 give us a break from all these kick ass flashes, the pure awesomeness is making me noxious.

Animation: Sleek, fast what you've come to expect from an author of Terkoiz1's caliber. The fighting and characters themselves were created one in particular (Stick with a bazillion spikes) I've never seen in the Stick universe pretty cool design.

Story: According to the author their is one but as he expected from newcomers to this series you just won't fully understand. To be honest even if I did understand it I probably wouldn't be into it it looks like it would be as convoluted as the MADNESS series.

Art: Not much eye candy but colors and special effects look nice. Besides te action draws in most of my attention for me to really care about the aesthetics, well except...

Music: I usually don't have a problem with hearing heavy metal, but this track just sounds like a bunch of noise. It just bellows through the speakers out of nowhere like a bunch of kids racing towards an ice cream truck. Not a flash killer but I think I would've been happier if the song was just an instrumental version.

Overall:

Chalk of another awesome stick series from terkoiz1. It's fast, loud, and chaotic. Everything you'd expect from this stick animation master.

A well executed passionate and nostalgic tribute.

Very few people haven't discovered flash through stick figures. Hell in my experience if it wasn't for stick page I would've never known Newgrounds. It's amazing how stick figure movies have given us timeless classics and how they can still hold up against the other more aesthetic action flashes to this very day! (Lookin at you Xiao Xiao) The evolution of stick animation from Matrix inspired flashes to original characters and stories is pretty interesting.

Concept: A simple tribute indeed, Top Stick shows off the greatest stick characters to grace the internet.
( I felt Mr. Game and Watch was just there :P.)

Animation:
It's Terkoiz1 what other way best to sum it up other than "AWESOME". Each Stick figures fight like how they would in the hands of their respective owners. While not many have much evident personality the ones that do such as Johnny Rocket Fingers are portrayed nicely. Every Iconic stick figure I love is there starting off with Johnny Rocket fingers to the Sonic The Hedgehog and Crash Bandicoot inspired Fancy Pants, and who can forget the Bruce Lee of Stick figures known as XiaoXiao.

The choreography is very well from beginning to end, although I'd wish this was an actual series where we see who really IS TopStick, (in Terkoiz1's opinion.) Nonetheless, a great tribute I'm sure the authors of each character will adore it.

Art: Excluding the characters themselves its pretty plain but then again it's not really Terkoiz1 style to use a 3d environment evident from his own awesome SHOCK series.

Sound: If not for the choreography I wouldn't really like the music of choice as it has been used time, after time, AFTER TIME in stick and video game related action flashes alike. The action and noises representing each is believable and unmistakable. If I was blindfolded I could tell the difference from a punch, a gunshot and explosives.

Overall: If you've grown up with stick flash, theirs virtually NO EXCUSE not to enjoy an awesome tribute such as this. (unless you thought it was a new series, like me but you'll get over it.) Thanks to these artist (including Terkoiz1) every year these guys set a new bar for not only stick animation itself, but how to run and action packed flash.

Long live StickPage, Long Live Terkoiz1, LONG LIVE STICK ANIMATION!

A solid parody for ALL Sonic fans!

Concept: At first glance just another sonic parody, however the execution is what sets the bar above many. If this becomes a series I'm confident the Sonic Volumes will have competition.

Aesthetics: Like many it's not too focused on the art but the style is appealing and characters are easily recognizable. The Audio could use some work their are REALLY loud moments like when sonic was falling and other moments when the quality got really low like when Eggman and his robots were parodying their own personalities and relationship with each other. On the brighter side actors were pretty great and Taiya would be an acceptable voice actor for Tails in Sonic Generations.

Humor: A substantial amount found here, Pretty much about as appealing as what the author foresaw in his comments. Even people who don't know who sonic is (How is that possible?) will at the very least smirk while wishing they knew who the hell are guys. The choice in game references were on point and most importantly executed with great care and timing.Personally I found the parody related Eggman's attempts to fool sonic and co. in the actual games the most appealing. All the jokes were great but that one was the had was planned out the best right next to the "time paradox joke.

Overall: The weird sound quality is far from a flash buster and should be easily overlooked as evident from the current score. MegaJamesStudios shows he can run with the best of sonic parody authors and hopefully continue to show his love to the franchise through his own witty satirical style.

Sonic Generations Plot is a must see and adds the right kind of hype to one of the most anticipated games of 2011

Still can't shake that mediocre feel.

DISCLAIMER:
I don't wanna come off as an asshole, I recognize that you are trying and that your not quite into animation. I do recognize that it's not as easy as many of the veterans on NG and animation studios make it look. I love stick fights and I love leaving honest reviews. It may seem like I'm just being snobby but for each review I leave, I recognize as MY OPINION and hope it could be of use in someway to you, the author. Sorry if my review may spark offense but just remember that is NEVER my intent to any authors who don't deserve it.

Now on to the review...

Concept: the concept of this series is still using dance moves as combat, but it more so comes odd as a fight choreographed with funk music. It's been done before, just with different a different genre of music.

Aesthetics: to be honest it's not that interesting just shades of blue. Maybe this has to do with the authors comments or just to put more focus on the fight itself, in which case is okay.

Animation: The action has improved slightly, as well as the special effects (the random rainbow move was nice). Dance moves are actually being used as a tool for combat, but its somewhat inconsistent going back in forth from dancing experts to supernatural beings. Also whats the point of that random burgundy colored third guy there's seems to be nothing special about him unless he's just added comedy. Sorry but him being launched in the air and out of the fight for 5-10 seconds isn't being executed well enough to be humorous. It was kinda cool to see him get kicked toward his partner(?) as he landed but I think some funny dialogue before hand (If you launch me one more-POW!, or don't- you- dare...POW, etc.) might have made this scene less repetitive.

Overall:

Pros
+ better choreographed action
+improved special effects
+ faster frame rate
+ slightly funnier than the previous 2

Cons:
- problems from the previous sequels continue to show
- Has an undecided style of combat that doesn't represent it's title.
- slightly repetitive

It is best one so far, and I don't wanna turn an already discouraged animator away. flash does take much time to master even for stick animators. hell I can't even use Photoshop or 3d modeling software sufficiently within 2 months of class, so I know how you feel.

3/5 (honestly I can't decide whether i like it or not. But I felt like a 3 is what you need you have potential it just needs honing.)

hikuihito responds:

I read all of your reviews, they're really fair man. Really appreciate the time you spent full breaking down this stuff. I'll take what you've said to heart, but a few things you said were bad were actual conscious decisions. For instance the combat styles shifting and lacking consistency, would make the animation more unpredictable. I sort of drew a lot of inspiration from dance battles, where something unexpected would really wow a crowd. So in a much smaller sense, I planned or at least hoped throwing something unexpected like a few latin steps in and a pirouette would cause a chuckle.

improving but still missing the mark.

Concept: Same as the last.Dancing and fighting (supposedly) in sync to bring out a new style of stick combat.

Art: pretty basic train station foreground/background perspective and color is okay but not eye candy.

Animation: Decent, There are a few choppy parts in the beginning and the also the animation is a little too slow and the characters are kinda stiff. This makes the action dull. Also I thought your trying to incorporate fight and dance as one, as in using dance moves for fighting. Not showing very well considering your street fighter references, and bobbing heads and singing parts of a song isn't enough to give off that feel in my opinion. Maybe if each stick had its on dancing style such as break dancer vs 50's dancer or something along those lines then the flash would make more sense, be more funny and more original, in my opinion of course.

Overall:

This concept isn't being executed as well as it should be. Everything about it so far is just...mediocre, just entertaining enough for one sitting and not much else. Personally I think this series could be far better than where it is now.

Hopefully Part 3 can measure up, with a name like Funky stick fight and the style your trying to invoke. I think it still needs better execution, It kinda feels like you don't know whether your trying to be a unique or just another silly stick series.

2/5

Refreshing conept but kinda sloppy.

Art: background was cool nice vibrant uses of orange.

Sound: Honestly the song did sound pretty nice. Almost have a Micheal Jackson style to it.

Action and humor:

The humor was kinda nullified, the text was goin to fast to read (why is that so common in stick fights?) and I didn't understand why that random third guy was there because of it. But the only funny part I caught was some of the action itself and when one of em was singing and fighting in tempo for a brief moment.

Overall:
Kinda lacking

Nice idea, needs more work hopefully your sequels will have more satisfying humor, action, and a slower text speed.

2/5

Enjoyable, but quantity outweighs quality.

Concept: The same formula of the past 6 volumes. With some new and old media to poke fun at such as Sonic COLORS and The first Sonic anime movie.

Humor: Unfortunately the humor here is somewhat lackluster. I know the idea is for them to be short hence the title. Since that is the case I think it's neccesary forth a little more creativity into those forgettable shorts particularly ones like Blaze falling threw the ice while spinning on it. As well as the sonic power up's backfiring on him. Another factor that could be hurting this flash reception is that it's no longer a collab. But whether Alone or a compilation, every parody has it's hit and misses. However, I think the series was stronger when you had numerous people working on it, with whom you could share and trade Ideas and in turn pt forth a better comedic flash. And in the end the humor is more varietal and offering something for every viewer.

It's not all bad, I mean how can it be? I'm a sonic fan after all. you had at least 4-5 good jokes but I have to say my favorite was the "Cute couples" scene. I think the reactions, the timing and the computers hilarious "ACCESS DENIED!" voice was perfect. It's evident that your the mastermind behind the birth of this flash series.

OVERALL: Not many problems from a technical stand point the animation is great and retains it's comedic atmosphere. But this short is somewhat lacking in bringing home the "LOL's" compared to the previous installments. Hopefully more memorable jokes will be put forth into future sonic parodies although I don't blame you if the water well is starting to look dry cause from where I sit you had a great run anyway. And whenever this series dies I would like for it to go out knowing it was still funny and able to please the fans to the end.

until then...

Sonic Shorts: Volume 7

Anime stereo-truths(?) disguised as a joke.

Concept: you take everything that's wrong with with many anime (most of it overrated) and turn it into a running joke 5 minutes long.
A simple and apparently an ingenious concept that's 12 points away from a perfect score. Congratulations, now this flash is simply asking me for a fair and balanced review.

Humor:
It was a mixed bag the execution was in the right direction but it wasn't THAT funny . First of all The bashing of Anime pleases me to no end, because barely anyone on this site has the balls to do it, let alone make a flash about it! So I commend you for that, MORE IMPORTANTLY it was actually slightly funny and it had it's moments. I especially like the fact that the joke is almost being 100% factual about anime. The the overuse age of the panning camera, lack of REAL animation, and the exaggerated standoff complete with poker-face/retarded expressions. Anime fans I'm sorry but your lying to yourself if you dismiss these as false. The girl's cleavage size being deemed the typical anime girl is the only stereotype I'll admit is not entirely true (Barely). However it's part of the joke.

While your jokes were satisfying "on a funny cause its true level." The joke is a double edge sword and your flash itself became what it was mocking, one of those common boring moments in anime. Maybe you could've Made another side-joke to run with the gag perhaps some conversational humor (cause you know anime characters do talk to much sometimes.) I think this would've completed the joke further and add more humor.

Or better yet at the end of the flash you should've act like you were about to start the fight but have the Goku parody flash-back about the flash as he charges, now that would've been satisfying and slightly unexpected.

OVERALL:

Your score speaks for the majority who watch this flash so I guess my opinion won't have much staying power. But from where I sit, the joke was successfully planned for bashing a medium, but it wasn't entertained enough to bring in the "LOL's."

3/5 ( more like a 2.5,unfortunately I'm force to round up.)

Stepping your game up every episode

Story: A noob stick continues learning how to fight through his own trial and errors. The story is starting to get more in depth as we come across new worlds and meet a new character. The series seems like its starting its own comedic adventure as the author is getting away from having the series based on one stick getting his ass kicked for shits and giggles. However that formula hasn't begun to stale yet, but I'm interested to see where the next episode takes me.

Humor: As hilarious if not more than the last installment. There was some ironic humor thats chuckle worthy but the bread and butter is how this series got its name. Slapstick is as humorous as it is clever. Very original comedy, I can hardly see why fans of stick fights or stick figures in general can't find any appeal n this flash.

Improvements:(take it with a grain of salt)

While your special effects aren't a problem it would be cool to see more realistic environment of the world your bringing your character into.

Add some highlight, shading details to characters.

Overall:

I have virtually little to no complaints about Stickman Can't Fight 3. It's a successful original comedy that apparently seems to get underrated reception from where I sit.

The Action is loud, the comedy surpasses expectations, and I hope the best for the author to keep this series around for months, and if were lucky years to come.
